Garage & reminders
Keep your car admin in one place.
The Garage area is where you manage saved vehicles, check due dates, and receive reminder nudges for MOT, tax, and service. It is designed to help you stay ahead of deadlines without relying on manual notes elsewhere.

Adding and managing vehicles
Carity treats make and model as the core identity for each saved vehicle. Registration appears alongside it, and a nickname is shown only if you choose to set one.
Garage cards can lead to a read-only vehicle detail view, where the app can show the latest MOT summary, the wider MOT history, and related trends when that information is available.

Reminder timing and what to expect
Garage reminders do not follow the same summary settings as fuel alerts. They are intended to arrive around due-date milestones so important MOT, tax, and service tasks are still surfaced when they matter.
The app copy highlights 30-day and 7-day nudges as the main expectation for users. If you have notifications turned off for Carity, those reminders cannot reach your device.
Why a newer vehicle may show “MOT not due”
For some newer vehicles, Carity can identify that the first MOT is not due yet. In that case, the app should show MOT not due rather than treating the field as missing or broken.
This helps the Garage stay useful for recently registered vehicles while still supporting reminders against the expected first due month.
Default car and station context
Carity can let you choose which saved car is treated as the default for fuel-cost views. In some station contexts, you may also be able to switch between saved cars without leaving the current screen.
If a station cost view looks incomplete because MPG or tank data is missing, update that information from the matching Garage vehicle so the calculations have enough detail to work from.
