Getting started
Understand the app before you troubleshoot it.
Carity combines fuel discovery, favourites, alerts, garage reminders, and premium-aware features in one iPhone app. This page explains how those pieces fit together so the rest of the support guides make sense.

What Carity does
Carity is designed for drivers who want to compare nearby fuel prices, save useful stations, set meaningful alerts, and keep on top of MOT, tax, and service dates in one place.
It is not just a simple public-fuel lookup. The app stores your saved state, supports reminders and notifications, and can reflect premium access from the App Store so the experience stays consistent on your device.
Core areas of the app
Fuel discovery and favourites
You can search around a postcode or area, compare nearby forecourts, inspect station details, and save favourites so the stations you care about are easier to find again.
Alerts
Carity supports richer alert types than a simple single-price target. You can watch for target hits, price changes, out-of-stock events, or changes to the cheapest station in an area.
Garage and reminders
The Garage area helps you keep vehicle records together and receive reminder nudges for MOT, tax, and service milestones.
Premium
Premium unlocks higher limits and added value across alerts and vehicle management. Billing and subscription management still come from the App Store.

Notifications are opt-in
Carity should not automatically force the Apple notification prompt as soon as you launch the app. Instead, the app explains the value of notifications first and asks for permission only after you choose to opt in.
This matters because fuel alerts and garage reminders both depend on notification permission if you want them delivered to your device.
Where to find support, contact, and legal information
The app’s Settings area is the main place for support-related links, legal pages, premium state, and notification choices. Some support diagnostics also live behind a deliberate support-only interaction rather than in the main everyday settings list.
If you cannot resolve something from this help centre, email support@carity.co.uk. If your request is about privacy, access, correction, or deletion, use legal@carity.co.uk or the privacy guide.
